હેપી ચોકલેટ ડે.. વેલેંટાઈન વીકનો ત્રીજો અને સંબંધોમાં મીઠાસ લાવનારો દિવસ મતલબ ચોકલેટ ડે. એક સ્વીટ ડિશના રૂપમાં તો ચોકલેટ જાણીતી છે જ, પરંતુ જ્યારે વાત આવે છે એકરાર-એ-મોહબ્બતની તો ચોકલેટનું મહત્વ વધી જાય છે. પ્રેમના એકરારની સાથે સાથે ઘણા અનેક રોગોનો ઈલાજ છે ચોકલેટ.

પ્રેમનો એકરાર કરવો હોય તો ફૂલોની સાથે ચોકલેટ, રિસાયેલી ગર્લફ્રેંડને મનાવવી હોય તો ચોકલેટ, રડતા બાળકને હસાવવો હોય તો ચોકલેટ. સૌ વચ્ચે ખુશીની વહેંચણી કરવી હોય તો ચોકલેટ. જમ્યા પછી કંઈક ગળ્યુ ખાવુ હોય તો ચોકલેટ. જોયુ કેટલી કામની છે ચોકલેટ

ત્યારે તો એક આખો દિવસ ચોકલેટના નામે કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. દર વર્ષે 9 ફેબ્રુઆરીના દિવસને આપણે ચોકલેટ ડે તરીકે ઉજવીએ છીએ. જે વેલેંટાઈન વીકનો એક ખાસ દિવસ છે. આ દિવસે ખાસ કરીને પ્રેમ કરનારા એકબીજાને ચોકલેટ ભેટ કરી પોતાના દિલની વાત કહે છે.

પરંતુ વિચાર કરો કે જો આપણે કોઈને તીખી ચોકલેટ ખવડાવીએ તો ? કોઈ પૂછે કે શુ તમે ચોકલેટ પીવી પસંદ કરશો ? ત્યારે શુ થાત. આ એકરાર કરવો થોડો તીખો થઈ જાત. કદાચ ઘણાને ચોકલેટ પસંદ જ ન પડત. ચોકલેટ એ માટે આટલી હિટ છે કે તે સ્વીટ છે. પરંતુ આજે તમે ચોકલેટને જે મીઠા રૂપમાં જાણો છો.. તે ચોકલેટ શરૂઆતમાં આવી નહોતી. આવો જાણીએ ચોકલેટનો ઈતિહાસ...

ચોકલેટનો ઈતિહાસ

'ચોકલેટ' આ શબ્દ વિશે ઘણા તથ્ય છે. કેટલાકના મુજબ આ શબ્દ મુખ્યરૂપે સ્પેનિશ ભાષાનો શબ્દ છે. મોટાભાગના લોકો કહે છે કે ચોકલેટ શબ્દ માયા અને એજટેક સભ્યતાઓની ઉપજ છે. જે મધ્ય અમેરિકા સાથે જોડાયેલો છે. એજટેકની ભાશા નેહુટલમાં ચોકલેટ શબ્દનો અર્થ ખાટી કે કડવી થાય છે.

ચોકલેટની મુખ્ય સામગ્રી કેકો કે કોકોના વૃક્ષની શોધ 2000 વર્ષ પહેલા અમેરિકાના વર્ષા વનમાં થઈ હતી. આ ઝાડના સીંગોમાં જે બીજ હોય છે તેમાંથી ચોકલેટ બનાવવામાં આવે છે. સૌ પહેલા મેક્સિકો અને મધ્ય અમેરિકાના લોકોએ આ ચોકલેટ બનાવી હતી. ત્યારે આ ચોકલેટ ખાવાની નહી પીવાની એક વસ્તુ હતી.

1528માં સ્પેને જ્યારે મેક્સિકો પર કબજો કર્યો ત્યારે ત્યાનો રાજા મોટા પ્રમાણમાં કોકોના બીજ અને ચોકલેટ બનાવવાના યંત્રોને પોતાની સાથે સ્પેન લઈ ગયો. અને ટૂંક સમયમાં જ ચોકલેટ શ્રીમંતોનું ફેશનેબલ ડ્રિંક બની ગયુ.

ઈટલીના એક યાત્રી ફ્રેસિસ્કો કારલેટીએ સૌ પહેલા ચોકલેટ પર સ્પેનના એકાધિકારને ખતમ કર્યુ. તેણે મધ્ય અમેરિકાના ઈંડિયંસને ચોકલેટ બનાવતા જોયો અને પોતાના દેશ ઈટલીમાં પણ ચોકલેટનો પ્રચાર કર્યો. 1606 સુધી ઈટલીમાં પણ ચોકલેટ ફેમસ થઈ ગઈ.

ફ્રાંસે 1615માં ડ્રિંકિગ ચોકલેટનો સ્વાસ્દ માણ્યો. ફ્રાંસના લોકોને આ સ્વાસ્થ્યની દ્રષ્ટિએ ખૂબ ઉપયોગી પદાર્થ લાગ્યો. ઈગ્લેંડમાં ચોકલેટની એંટ્રી 1650માં થઈ અત્યાર સુધી લોકો ચોકલેટ પીતા હતા.

તમને જાણીને નવાઈ લાગશે કે ચોકલેટ પહેલા હતી. અમેરિકાના લોકો કોકો બીજોને વાટીને તેમા વિવિધ પ્રકારના મસાલા જેવા કે ચીલી વોટર, વેનીલા, વગેરે નાખીને એક સ્પાઈસી અને ફેશવાલો તીખો પીવાનો પદાર્થ હતો.

ચોકલેટને મીઠી બનાવવાનો શ્રેય યૂરોપને જાય છે . અંગ્રેજ ડોક્ટર 'સર હેંસ સ્લોને' દક્ષિણ અમેરિકાનો પ્રવાસ કર્યો અને ખાવાની ચોકલેટની રેસીપી તૈયાર કરી અને ચોકલેટમાંથી મરચું હટાવીને દૂધ અને ખાંડ નાખી. કેડબરી મિલ્ક ચોકલેટની રેસીપી તેમણે જ બનાવી. ચોકલેટને પીવાની વસ્તુમાંથી ખાવાની વસ્તુ પણ યૂરોપે જ બનાવી.

ત્યારથી ચોકલેટ ખાવાની વસ્તુ બની ગઈ અને મીઠી મીઠી થઈ ગઈ. આજે અનેક રૂપમાં ચોકલેટ લોકોના સંબંધોમાં પોતાના સ્વાદની જેમ જ મીઠાશ ઉમેરી રહ્યા છે દરેક વયના લોકોની આ ભાવતી સ્વીટ ડિશ છે.

ચોકલેટ્સ આજના જમાનામાં ઉત્તમ ભેટ છે. ચોકલેટ્સ ડે અને વેલેંટાઈન ડેના દિવસોમાં બજારમાં ચોકલેટના વિશેષ ગિફ્ટ પેકેટ્સ મળી જાય છે. તમે તમારા પ્રિયને આ ચોકલેટ્સ આપીને તમારા સંબંધોમાં મીઠાસ લાવી શકો છો. તો હવે મોડુ ન કરશો અને તમારી ઈચ્છા મુજબની ચોકલેટ ખરીદીને તમારા પ્રિયને ગિફ્ટ આપીને ઉજવો મીઠો અને પ્રેમભર્યો ચોકલેટ ડે.
