IND vs ENG, 1st Test: લીડ્સના હેડિંગ્લી મેદાન પર રમાયેલી પહેલી ટેસ્ટ મેચમાં ટીમ ઈન્ડિયાને કારમી હારનો સામનો કરવો પડ્યો હતો. આ મેચમાં ભારતીય બેટ્સમેનોએ શાનદાર પ્રદર્શન કર્યું અને પહેલી અને બીજી ઇનિંગમાં કુલ 5 સદી ફટકારી, પરંતુ તેમ છતાં ટીમ ઈન્ડિયા મેચ બચાવવામાં નિષ્ફળ રહી. ઇંગ્લેન્ડે ચોથી ઇનિંગમાં 371 રનનો વિશાળ લક્ષ્યાંક હાંસલ કરીને ટેસ્ટ ક્રિકેટમાં ઇતિહાસ રચ્યો. ઇંગ્લેન્ડે છેલ્લા દિવસે 352 રન બનાવીને જીત મેળવી. છેલ્લા દિવસે ટેસ્ટ જીતવા માટે ફક્ત એક જ ટીમ આનાથી વધુ રન બનાવી શકી છે. ડોન બ્રેડમેનના નેતૃત્વમાં ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયાએ 1948માં હેડિંગ્લી ખાતે ઇંગ્લેન્ડ સામે છેલ્લા દિવસે 404 રન બનાવ્યા હતા

પહેલી ઇનિંગમાં યશસ્વી જયસ્વાલ, કેપ્ટન શુભમન ગિલ અને ઋષભ પંતે શાનદાર સદી ફટકારી હતી. જયસ્વાલે 101, ગિલે 147 અને પંતે 134 રન બનાવ્યા હતા. બીજી ઇનિંગમાં પણ કેએલ રાહુલ (137) અને ઋષભ પંત (118) એ શાનદાર પ્રદર્શન કર્યું હતું. તમને જાણીને આશ્ચર્ય થશે કે પહેલી વાર ભારતે એક ટેસ્ટ મેચમાં કુલ 5 સદી ફટકારી હતી અને છતાં ટીમ હારી ગઈ હતી. ટેસ્ટ ક્રિકેટના ઇતિહાસમાં આ પહેલી વાર છે જ્યારે કોઈ ટીમને 5 સદી છતાં ટેસ્ટ મેચમાં હારનો સામનો કરવો પડ્યો હોય. જોકે ટીમ ઇન્ડિયાએ મેચમાં બંને ઇનિંગમાં મોટી લીડ લીધી હતી અને ઇંગ્લેન્ડ સામે 371 રનનો લક્ષ્યાંક રાખ્યો હતો, પરંતુ ભારતીય બોલરો આ મોટા સ્કોરનો બચાવ કરી શક્યા ન હતા.
 
ઐતિહાસિક બન્યો મુકાબલો  
ઇંગ્લેન્ડે 5 વિકેટ બાકી રહેતા 371 રનનો લક્ષ્યાંક હાંસલ કર્યો, જે ભારત સામે ચોથી ઇનિંગમાં ટેસ્ટ ઇતિહાસમાં બીજા ક્રમનો સૌથી મોટો સફળ રન ચેઝ છે. આ પહેલા 2022માં ઇંગ્લેન્ડે બર્મિંગહામમાં 378 રનનો લક્ષ્યાંક હાંસલ કર્યો હતો, પરંતુ આ વખતે લીડ્સમાં 371 રનનો પીછો કરવો પણ ઐતિહાસિક રહ્યો.
 
ભારતીય બોલિંગ નબળી પડી 
 
લીડ્સ ટેસ્ટમાં, જસપ્રીત બુમરાહ સિવાય, ટીમ ઈન્ડિયાના બાકીના બોલરોએ ઘણા નિરાશ કર્યા. પ્રસિદ્ધ કૃષ્ણા, મોહમ્મદ સિરાજ અને શાર્દુલ ઠાકુર ઈંગ્લિશ બેટ્સમેન પર દબાણ લાવવામાં નિષ્ફળ રહ્યા. બુમરાહે પહેલી ઇનિંગમાં ઈંગ્લેન્ડની અડધી ટીમને પેવેલિયન મોકલી દીધી હશે, પરંતુ બીજી ઇનિંગમાં, 19 ઓવર ફેંકવા છતાં, તે ખાલી હાથે રહ્યો. બીજી ઇનિંગમાં, શાર્દુલ ઠાકુર અને પ્રસિદ્ધ કૃષ્ણાએ 2-2 વિકેટ લીધી, પરંતુ ઈંગ્લેન્ડને જીત નોંધાવતા રોકી શક્યા નહીં.
 
બેન ડકેટ બન્યો જીતનો હીરો 
ઇંગ્લેન્ડના ઓપનર બેન ડકેટે બીજી ઇનિંગમાં ઐતિહાસિક ઇનિંગ રમી. તેમણે 149 રન બનાવ્યા અને ટીમને વિજય તરફ દોરી ગયા. ઇનિંગ દરમિયાન, ડકેટને યશસ્વી જયસ્વાલ દ્વારા 97 રન પર રાહત આપવામાં આવી, જેનો તેમણે પૂરો ફાયદો ઉઠાવ્યો. ડકેટ ભારત સામે ટેસ્ટ મેચની ચોથી ઇનિંગમાં સૌથી વધુ સ્કોર બનાવનાર બેટ્સમેન બન્યો. તેમણે જો રૂટનો 142* રનનો રેકોર્ડ તોડ્યો.
