શહેરમાં આવેલી ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટી કેમ્પસમાં સ્થિત સમરસ હોસ્ટેલમાં કોવિડ કેર સેન્ટરમાંથી પોઝિટિવ દર્દી મોડી રાતે ફરાર થઈ ગયો છે. ત્રણ દિવસ પહેલા પોઝિટિવ રિપોર્ટ આવતા સમરસ હોસ્ટેલમાં લાવવામાં આવ્યો હતો. મોડી રાતે વિઝિટ દરમિયાન દર્દી ગાયબ હોવાનું બહાર આવ્યું હતું. ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટી પોલીસ સ્ટેશનમાં ડોક્ટરે ફરિયાદ નોંધાવતા દર્દીની શોધખોળ શરૂ કરવામાં આવી છે. બાપુનગરના ગરીબનગર ચાર રસ્તા પાસે રહેતા એક યુવકનો 26 મેના રોજ કોરોના પોઝિટિવ રિપોર્ટ આવતા સમરસ હોસ્ટેલમાં કોવિડ કેર સેન્ટરમાં બ્લોક નંબર Bમાં રાખવામાં આવ્યો હતો. ગુરુવારે મોડી રાતે ડોક્ટરો દર્દીઓની વિઝિટમાં નીકળ્યા ત્યારે દર્દી રૂમમાંથી ગાયબ હતો. આખી હોસ્ટેલમાં તપાસ કરતા યુવક મળી આવ્યો ન હતો. હોસ્ટેલમાં સિક્યુરિટી વચ્ચે પોઝિટિવ દર્દી ફરાર થઈ જતા અનેક સવાલ ઊભા થયા છે. શહેરમાં હોસ્પિટલ/ કેર સેન્ટરમાંથી પોઝિટિવ દર્દી ભાગી જવાની બીજી ઘટના બની છે. થોડા દિવસ પહેલા SVP હોસ્પિટલમાંથી પોઝિટિવ દર્દી ફરાર થઈ ગયો હતો ત્યારે ફરી એકવાર કોવિડ સેન્ટરમાંથી દર્દી નાસી જતાં સિક્યુરિટી અને દર્દીઓની કાળજી સામે સવાલ ઊભા થયા છે. પોલીસે દર્દીની શોધખોળ શરૂ કરી છે.
